So we were a little apprehensive about the onset of winter here, "Will it be crazy cold?" "Will it be boring?" "What will we do?" Even though school is out and the hospital is less busy, we have found plenty to keep us going. Around New Years, we spent a few days at the children's home, having snowball fights and sledding with some of the children we love. After that we took a trip to the Northeastern part of India, to the state of Mizoram, to witness the wedding of two of our friends. The bride is a warden at the children's home, from Mizoram, and the groom is an American whom we have come to know here. In between, we have had the joy of spending time with our youth group (we fit them all into our house on Saturday!) and we have had some really sweet time with them individually. I've enjoyed the time to cook more often, and I've been especially happy that I can serve most northern Indian dishes to anyone who comes to eat with us. Now if we could become fluent in the language . . .pray for that!
So here are a few pictures from our winter activities so far. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we pursue relationships and make plans for the spring. School begins again at the beginning of March, as do our regular youth meetings. We will be welcoming about 12 new students to the group, and we are very excited about that.
Hope you all are enjoying your own winter season.
Shanti (Peace) and love,
Grant and Charlene
