The joy of having a Momma in Manali

We had the joy of having Charlene’s mother with us in India for the past few weeks. It was a memorable time for sure!

A few of the highlights from Mom’s culture shock in India:
*(In Delhi) “Baby, there is a cow right in the middle of the road!”
*”Charleni, that bus is coming into our lane!!!”
*(to a boy carrying an idol and begging for money, in English of course) “Do you believe in that god?”

A few of the highlights from her time spent here:
*Spoke to our youth as lovingly as any mother would. She shared her testimony of losing her mother when she was 12 years old, and of how she came to know the Lord as an adult.
*Spent time with our youth girls in the house and in the market. Especially bonded with one girl and led that girl’s cousin to the Lord one afternoon in our house.
*Spoke in the Saturday women’s meeting. Shared her testimony and lots of scripture that has encouraged her in her walk with God. Prayed for each woman following the meeting.
*Ate breakfast with her daughter and son-in-law every morning. ☺
*Became a blessing to our friends here and will continue to be through prayer.

We are thankful, for groups and for individuals that come all the way to Manali to spend time with us. We are encouraged and blessed.

Upcoming events in our lives:
*Walker coming to live with us as an intern for six months; arriving next weekend.
*Youth retreat in a distant village in two weeks, opportunities for fellowship, fun, and leading a village church service.

Please keep us in your prayers, and keep in touch!

With love,
Grant and Charlene
