So we're a bit overdue in updating this blog. Usually we post at least once a month. I (Charlene) realized something about myself as I continued to put off updating it this time: I do not like writing when there are difficult things to write about. It is so much easier to share stories of beauty, progress, and joy. But honestly things have been hard lately. A few of our youth boys have been experimenting with drugs. One of our girls is considering a relationship with a Hindu. We are dealing with the issues one by one, but it is heart-wrenching and difficult. Challenges like these cause us to miss the comforts of home even more, particularly the fellowship of family and friends.
So pray for us. Pray for strength and wisdom. Pray for these teenagers who are meant to love and serve God only. Pray that the Lord will heal the broken places in their hearts and restore them to health. Pray that He will make their footing strong and grow them in boldness, truth, and love.
The good in all of this is that sin has come out into the light. We know, and they know that we know. We are able to speak into their lives and show our love for them through tears, words, and persistence.
We are blessed to have Walker with us now. He speaks to them and to us with Biblical authority and strength. Two new friends have also joined us this week, Kyle and Jason. They are leaving this afternoon but their joy in the Lord has been contagious.
So if you notice that we again disappear from this blog for over a month, feel free to inquire about our lives and ministry here. We need your prayers, love, and accountability. We would love to hear from you and welcome your comments and wisdom on these things.
Missing each of you,
Charlene and Grant
