We've decided to introduce you to some of our youth individually. It's been a while since we have done that and we feel that if you know something more about them you can pray for them more specifically.
Yangzom is a beautiful 16-year-old from a remote Buddhist village in Northeast India. She is growing up in the children's home here, though she has parents and siblings back in her village. She is the only believer in her family and she prays constantly for them to come to know the Lord.
Yangzom has been part of our youth group for two years. Last year she approached Charlene for one-on-one discipleship. Once every two weeks she comes to our house before school to talk and pray. But she is so close to the Lord that I (Charlene) am sure that the blessing of our relationship is all mine. She shares deep things with me and we seek the Lord together. Usually by the next time we meet, the Lord has already led her to a decision or peace about whatever we prayed about. She trusts Him and loves Him, and I am always in awe of her faith.
Yesterday I was teaching the youth girls about Integrity. We talked specifically about Wisdom, Honesty, and Purity. At the end of our study one girl stayed back to tell me that she sees all three of these characteristics in Yangzom. I encouraged this girl to tell her, knowing that Yangzom's humble heart would receive it as a word of encouragement.
Pray that she will continue to put the Lord first. Pray that she will have patience and wisdom in the area of love and marriage (as several of our youth boys would love to have her as their wife! :) And pray that through her faith her family will turn from the emptiness of Buddhism to the truth of Christ. --Thanks :)
